There is a time in the life when we have to make decision. Subject doesn’t matter – it can be career, personal life, education related decisions, so on.
The most difficult question is, which is proper decision?
We all have faced such situation, at least once in a lifetime.
So what is the best rule? How to make right decision in life?
Before defining golden rule, let’s review some options we have:
1) Ask a Friend/Relatives for Advice
This is most commonly used option and it might be good one, however all people are different and everybody has it’s own vision as well as interest. It’s good to apply to person with good background or life experience, which guarantees you best logical brainstorming ideas; However as usually happens, people tend to neglect logical arguments and frequently it doesn’t matter.
2) Write Down Pros & Cons Table
If you are introvert, this might be most suitable option for you. You’ll write down a list of positive impacts and on a contrary negative impact of outcomes resulting you decision. There are people who even got married with help of pros & cons table – weird things happen.
3) Ask Oracle
Yes, even nowadays some people uses this method for making right decision in life. We can’t comment on it as this is more extrassential experience.
4) Follow the Signs
Do you know that in ancient Rome, each and every decision was accompanied and highlighted by signs? Future Emperor was born – people said that eagle set on that house that time. Important battle was initiated – result was predicted with help of signs which might be behavior of animal, bird, tree etc. Some people still believe that Universe is talking with us with help of signs and we should pay attention to them.
5) Follow Your Heart
As life goes one, many people admit the truth of this approach and power of desire.
First let’s discuss investment example. Say you have some money and there is a big investment opportunity. If you don’t have an intention of investment, it doesn’t matter how good opportunity is there, it might have each and every logical outcome to take this approach, but if you don’t have a will, you just couldn’t notice it, so personal will is foundation of each and every action.
Have you heard about Louis Vuitton? Sure you have. He arrived to Paris from province to take a chance and make a fortune. He was fascinated with trunks and devoted his life to this craft, resulting establishing brand which became crown jewel of luxury companies. Louis Vuitton just followed his heart. There are thousands of stories similar to this when person followed his dream, he believed it and succeeded.
According to St. Augustin – there is no pure cognition. Faith stimulates comprehension – comprehension is reward of faith. Faith “makes possible the connectedness or unity of all truth”. It is something we believe in, what we feel without evidence. The primary tool of knowledge is faith, intelligence is secondary. Impartial Science is the purest myth. The will is present in any kind of belief, idea, therefore the goal of intelligence, is to interpret and prove it. Thus feelings are primary – that leads us forward and allow our development. But where should one get these feelings – desire to develop?
According to The Catechism of the Christian religion, there are “7 gifts of the Holy Spirit”. One of these gifts is The Gift of Courage/Fortitude – the perfection of the cardinal virtue of prudence. Prudence can be practiced by anyone, but counsel is supernatural. Through this gift of the Holy Spirit, we are able to judge how best to act almost by intuition. Because of the gift of counsel, Christians need not fear to stand up for the truths of the Faith, because the Holy Spirit will guide us in defending those truths.”
Thus the only known option, is achieving it via proper spiritual life. Sometimes you won’t get right answer with help of overanalyze, but you’ll get best one if you follow your feelings, intuition. If everyday stress is blocking your sensation, try to reduce it with simple recommendations.
