Who are they and what do we know about the aspirational class?
In the consumer world, where everything could be bought, things are losing value. Louis Vuittone, Hermes or Goyard bags are no longer unreachable even for ordinary people.
However there always have been Plutocrats, people with ultra high net worth income who were getting the best of humankind resources, which aimed to highlight their social status among the same class. But what are these resources today if everything could be purchased?
Values of Aspiration Class
Knowledge – yes, it always has been the most valuable asset – information, ideas and now latest researches!
In the modern world, when we are struggling with so many problems, information about better life, healthy food, latest innovations and scientific research are what matters the most.
This is what could make Plutocrats life better and more importantly – longer.
When you have everything, your life is like a fairytale, what you need the most is time. Time is the most limited resource and it could be given in the same amount to the poorest man in the world and on the opposite side to the plutocrat.
Thus all intentions of the aspirational class is directed toward gaining the knowledge of improving life quality and health.
Healthcare Values
Health is becoming an ultimate desire even more than in past centuries.
Their motto is “getting the best of cultural capital and having the best consumer choices”.
Getting back to nature – eating fresh, bio food. Breastfeeding babies by giving the best of what nature developed for its inhabitants.
Improving qi energy and lymph system by everyday Pilates and yoga exercises.
Balancing diet with help of healthy fats, protein, vitamins and water.
Wearing organic cotton, linen, wool and cashmere items instead of cheap polyester and acrylic made in China as they do know that what we wear affects the sparks our body generates.
Instead of spending time in a polluted city, they spend more time in the wild countryside with high ionization of air, near lakes and sea.
Life Quality
Instead of discussing staff like the middle class does, read the latest news to share ideas and keep conversation with other aspirational class members during meetups.
Instead of spending time in front of TV, socialize and spend more time with people to exchange and generate more ideas, more energy.
Free up personal time and hire low cost workers for routine household, driving, and nursing tasks.
They travel to get new aspirations and show off among other members of the same class.
Inconspicuous consumption is what marks aspirational class among the whole society. Money spent on education, best healthcare services and beauty routines, indoor private parties for selected society. This couldn’t be seen publicly, but shapes their new lifestyle and preserves social status.
Lessons to be Learnt
What can we learn of this approach? Of course the same:
- Be oriented towards things which are free of charge, given by nature and have more value to our life.
- Socializing with other interesting people. relationship with own family members.
- Spend less on unneeded things like $10-$30 value cheap products. Make more food at home from raw products bought at markets rather than ready-to-cook products bought at supermarkets. These ready-made food at the supermarket draws you to poverty.
- Consuming bio, fresh foods, less carbs, more vegetables is the cornerstone of aspirational class modern diet.
- Be close to nature – polluted ecology pushes people to go out of the city center cycle and buy houses in the suburbs.
- Stop buying candies, chocolates, cakes and sweets which drains your family budget. So it’s better to make home made cake or spend the same amount of funds once in a week and enjoy the family time at a café with a portion of cake. This will give more nice memories and emotions to the whole family.
- Communicate more and enjoy social activities.
- Read more – subscribe to health, scientific channels or newspaper that could bring value to you.
- Take 1 or 2 trainings per annum to increase your qualification or gain valuable knowledge.
So, it’s important to spend some time and analyze your daily routine and restructure it to make it more conscious and productive.
